Objective To optimize the extraction process of black cohosh. Methods Orthogonal tests were design for optimum conditions, with HPLC method for the determination of black cohosh glycoside in black cohosh extract. Results Optimum process was black cohosh herbal add 10 volume of 60 % ethanol, refluxing extraction for 3 times, each 1.5 h. Conclusion Optimized process is stable and reproducible, providing theoretical basis for production practice.
