This article introduced the manufacturing technologies of the billets for heavy-gauge steel plate in detail, including electroslag remelted flat ingots, welded continuous casting slabs, extra gauge casting slabs, one-way solidified ingots and other high quality billets, and analyzed their production processes and technological characteristics. It summarized the metallurgical technology about materials for heavy-gauge plate billets and discussed the rolling technology development and the facilities and processes of heat treatment.
