离岸金融中心是二战以后迅速发展起来的国际资本流动市场之一.本文从地理学角度对全球离岸金融中心进行了研究,探讨了离岸金融中心的地理分布特征.结果表明:离岸金融中心主要分布在岛屿及沿海地区,并集中在大洲交界处,已经形成五大集群.地理位置便利、政局稳定、自然灾害少、基础设施完善、金融法律服务专业、金融法律法规健全、政策优惠等,是离岸金融中心的主要区位条件.各离岸金融中心的社会经济发展水平差异较大,其根据自身条件发展了各具特色的离岸业务,并开始重视与中国的离岸业务.

The world’s offshore financial centers (OFCs) have been developed rapidly since 1950’s and become one of the most important world financial markets. In this arti-cle, the world’s offshore financial centers are studied extensively in geographic perspec-tive, geographic distribution characteristics of offshore financial centers are summarized. OFCs are mainly located in the islands and coastal areas, especially at the junction of continents, and have formed five clusters. Its mainly geographic conditions include conve-nient location, preferential policies, sound financial laws and regulations, political stability, professional financial and law services, improved infrastructure, and fewer natural disas-ters. The levels of socio-economic development in OFCs are different, and most of them have colonial history. OFCs develop characteristic offshore business according to their own conditions, and begin to pay attention to offshore business with China.
