This paper puts forward the designing scheme of reinforcement on the basis of a shield tunnel project in Shanghai when a shield arrives. The emergency measures are raised according to the shield propulsion and the monitoring situation and at the same time this paper analyses the reason of settlement. Finally it puts forward a suggestion about the consolidation of shield arrival in sandy soil area and provides some reference for future relevant engineering.
