@@@@Based on PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) lines, and with ATMEGA128L microprocessor of low power consumption and CMC869 MODEM chip of high performance and low power consumption, a type of handheld and low-power consumption MODEM is designed. The paper briefly describes the design goals, functional components, performance indicators of princcipal devices, expounds from hardware and software the design of low-cost and low-power MODEM, and gives the hardware diagram and the program flow chart. It finally points out the application prospect and value of the handheld and low-power MODEM in the long-distance data transmission system.
