混凝土是一种非匀质脆性材料,由骨料、水泥石以及存其中的气体和水组成.在温度和湿度的变化条件下,硬化病产生体积变形,由于各种材料变形不一致,互相约束而产生初始应力,造成在骨料与水泥石粘结面或水泥石本省之间出现肉眼看不见的微细裂缝,一般称为微裂.这种微细裂缝的分布是不规则的,且不连贯,但在荷载作用下货进一步产生温差,干缩的情况下,裂缝开始扩展,并逐渐互相串通,从而出现较大的肉眼可见的裂缝(一般肉眼可见裂缝宽度为0.03~0.05mm),称为宏观裂缝,即通常所说的裂缝.因此混凝土的裂缝,实际是微裂的扩展.
