As the Internet has become a needed tool at home and in businesses it has also become a tool for crime. The anonymity of the Internet allows for all sorts of illegal activity to take place without many repercussions. Due to companies’ reliance on the Internet and their networks the losses sustained are often large and potentially catastrophic. This paper will introduce the different types of internet-crime and also describe why the fight against internet-crime has been so difficult for both companies and law enforcement.
