This paper introduces the current situation of tungsten processing technology by discussing the processing technology progresses and directions of scheelite, wolfrmite, and scheelite-wolfrmite mixed ore respectively. Scheelite flotation technology at room temperature, for its eco-friendliness, simple technique and convenient operation, has gradually replaced the heating flotation. The combined processing technology of gravity concentration, flotation and magnetic separation has been operated on wolframite. The processing rate of tungsten fine mud has been greatly improved with the application of centrifuges and high gradient magnetic separators. The traditionally singled flotation fails to process the low-grade and miscellaneous scheelite-wolfrmite mixed ore with reduced tungsten reserve. Thus, new processing technologies have been invented, such as the combined technology of processing and smelting.
