The Internet of vehicles with a very broad application prospects is one of the important applications of Internet of Things. In this paper, the concept of the generic application platform of the location based Internet of vehicles is introduced and its architecture is analyzed. Some typical applications in the key field are listed. The generality and superiority of platform compared with the present Internet of vehicles technology are pointed out.
