民国时期,一些学人以不同方式来关心广西图书馆事业.其中,陈柱在梧州倡设西江图书馆,促成广西大学图书馆购得康有为遗藏,其毕生珍藏也为广西图书馆所存;龙兆佛乘桂林文化抗战之机,促使广西省政府图书馆和广西省立桂林图书馆兴旺一时,并运用图书馆学原理和方法从事文书档案管理,有所创获;唐现之克服经费困难,对抗战结束后的广西省立桂林图书馆的恢复和发展有所贡献.

During the period of the Republic of China (1912-1949), some scholars concerned with undertaking of library in Guangxi by different means. For example, Chen Zhu advocated building Xijiang Library, helping to bring about Guangxi University Library to buy the collections of Kang Youwei. Most of his collections were also reserved by Guangxi Province Library after his death. Long Zhaofo impelled Guangxi Province Government Library and Guilin Library prosperous during the period of the War of Resistance against Japan (1937-1945) in Guilin. Moreover, he applied the principles and ways of library science to manage documents and archives. Tang Xianzhi overcame the financial difficulty and devoted himself to the resuming and development of Guilin library after the Anti-Japanese War.
