The paper analysis the influence parameters of varistor, sure the key parameters of varistor, that used in smart meter. Based on the statistics information of varistor that smart meter using, select several typical varistors to test that about electric parameters. Research the performance of different models and specifications varistor through analysis the test data of varistor. According to the operating conditions and rated parameters of the smart meter and calculating, determines the range of varistor`s voltage values, put forward to the selection method of varis-tor.
