The traditional Chinese medical prescription Xiaoxuming Decoction is famous for treating stroke. The study find that it can control the pathophysiological process of brain ischemia through multiple access to achieve obvious curative effect in the treatment of cerebral stroke. The mechanisation of Xiaoxuming decoction in the treatment of stroke are as follows: ①protecting nerves; ②improving the ischemic brain function; ③affecting the risk factors of cerebrovascular disease; ④obvious protective effect on neurons of hippocampal CA1 area in the cerebral ischemia model; ⑤protecting the mitochondria of cerebral ischemia rats. The advantages and characteristics, multicomponents, multi-channel and targets of the whole and regulation are the pharmacology foundation of Xiaoxuming decoction to obtain curative effect.
