    The quality, yield and economic benefits of lotus root and water caltrop have been declined as diseases and insect pests aggravated in recent years. In this paper, the major diseases and insect pests and their occurrence characteristics were reviewed, and the specific measures and methods on controlling the diseases and insect pests were proposed according to their occurrence conditions.
