郭之全,光绪年间军机章京,他曾上书反对签订“马关条约”,戊戌政变时为谭嗣同与其父之间传递信息,庚子事变后外放廉州任知府,肃清多年积匪,后应邀加入袁世凯幕府.本文根据有关公私文翰,对郭之全其人其事作以概述.

@@@@Guo Zhiquan was a confidential secretary of Grand Council in the reign of Emperor Guangxu .He once submitted to the imperial court a written statement against signing "the Treaty of Shimonoseki".During the coup of 1898, he transmitted informa-tion for Tan Sitong to Tan's father.After the incident of Boxer Indemnity , he was sent to Lianzhou Prefecture as the magistrate , where he wiped out the bandits who ran wide there for a long time .stood bu Yuan Shikai for his New Deal , and was later invited to enter Yuan's political grouping.The paper aims at surveying Guo Zhiquan and his deeds on the basis of the relative public and private docu -ments.
