This paper analyzes features upon water of gob area above the working face, taking previous experience of 1603 working face at open-pit mine in Shenhua Wuhai Energy Co., Ltd as example. And it also makes a comprehensive analysis and discussion on the source and ponding causes upon water of gob area with relevant countermeasures. Under similar geological conditions, preventive treatment on water of gob area for safe-mining can take it as reference.
