This article is based on the fracture fault of the 220 kV Xinyi Line No. 116 Fitting at the mesophase cross arm side hanging point due to the strong wind. Through the fitting failure test and its force calculation, this article carefully analyzes the cause for this fracture fault from the aspects of the fitting itself,the connection method and its operation environment. Then,it also proposes some preventive measures like changing the fitting connection method,using strengthened fitting in the strong wind region, and enforcing the daily operation test.
