新葱5号是采用多亲本、多重杂交技术,综合众多亲本的优良性状,经多年系统选育出的大葱新品种.株高95~100 cm,葱白长35~40 cm,底茎粗6~7 cm,中茎粗2.5~3.0 cm,叶片深绿色,生长期功能叶6~8片,平均每667 m2产量5000 kg,适合河南、河北、山西、山东等地种植.

‘Xincong No. 5’ is a new variety of Jitui welsh onion bred by the technique of multi-parents and ulti-crossing and through years of systematic selection and breeding.This new variety gath-ered good genes from several parents and possessed many outstanding characteristics. The plant height is 95-100 cm with 35-40 cm fistular onion stalk.The diameter of middle stem is 2.5-3.0 cm and that of bottem stem is 6-7 cm.Its leave blades are green in color.There are 6-8 functional leave blades dur-ing growing stage.Its average yield is over 75 t·hm-2.It is suitable to be cultivated in Henan,Hebei, Shanxi and Shandong Provinces,etc.
