Objective: To analyze the expression of Adenosine kinase(ADK) in breast cancer and the relationship between the expression of ADK and its clinicopathologic variables. Methods: The expression of ADK in 8 pairs of tumor tissues and adjacent nontumorous tissues was detected by Western Blot. Immunohistochemistry technique was used to analyze the expres-sion of ADK in 79 breast cancer samples. The correlation between the expression of ADK and clinical pathological factors was analyzed by chi-square analysis. Results:The expression of ADK was higher in cancer tissues than that in adjacent nontumor-ous tissues and the expression of ADK had a correlation with the histological grade(P<0.05). There was no statistical signifi-cance between the expression of ADK and other pathological factors(P>0.05). Conclusion: ADK was over-expressed in breast cancer and ADK might be a potential marker for breast cancer diagnosis and a potential target for breast cancer therapy.
