The equations of motion for a generalized Birkhoffian system with constrains are established. The e-quilibrium position is found, and at the equilibrium position, the disturbed equations of motion for the constrained generalized Birkhoffian system are established. Based on Lyapnnov's first approximation theory and direct method, the stability of equilibrium for the system under study is decided. Finally, we have illustrated the appli-cation of the results.
