Objective To investigate the efficacy of isosorbide mononitrate sustained-release capsules in the treatment of angina pectoris. Methods A total of 100 patients with angina pectoris admitted to our hospital between October 2012 and June 2013 were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 50 cases in each group. Patients in the observation group were treated with isosorbide mononitrate sustained-release capsules combined with conventional treatment for angina pectoris, while those in the control group just received conventional treatment for angina pectoris. The treatment outcomes of the two groups were compared. Results After treatment, the observation group had a significantly more electrocardiographic improvement than the control group (94.0% vs. 70.0%, P<0.05). The treatment outcome was significantly better in the observation group than in the control group (96.0% vs. 78.0%, P<0.05). Conclusion Isosorbide mononitrate sustained -release capsules have excellent efficacy in the treatment of angina pectoris. They are relatively safe for patients and helpful for relieving symptoms of angina pectoris. Due to these merits, this therapy holds promise for clinical application.
