1998年发现圆叶枸骨冬青变异新品种，自1999年起，历经10年的播种、嫁接、扦插、栽培等培育试验，经对各项目的跟踪观测记录，认真分析，掌握了该品种的生物学特征和生态学习性，后又历经近5年的园林栽培试验和推广，发现该品种具有稳定性好、适生范围广、抗性强、好管理、易造型、观赏价值高等特点，是园林绿化中不可多得的优良品种。
1998년발현원협구골동청변이신품충，자1999년기，력경10년적파충、가접、천삽、재배등배육시험，경대각항목적근종관측기록，인진분석，장악료해품충적생물학특정화생태학습성，후우력경근5년적완림재배시험화추엄，발현해품충구유은정성호、괄생범위엄、항성강、호관리、역조형、관상개치고등특점，시완림녹화중불가다득적우량품충。
A new variety of Ilex cornuta was discovered in 1998. Started from 1999,experiments on sowing, grafting,cuttage propagation and cultivation of the variety were carried out for 10 years and all the indexes were continuously observed and recorded and analyzed seriously,and the biological characteristics and ecological habits of the variety were known. The subsequent 5-year experiments on its landscaping cultivation and promotion proved that the variety has features of wide-range adaptability, high resistance, easy management and shaping and high ornamental value and is a rare and fine variety in landscaping.
