A new one-step cyanoacrylate process,combines the cyanoacrylate fuming and the dyeing pro-cedure into a one-step process offering the potential to save time,avoid destroy of fingerprints by second dye-staining treatment and effort in the detection of latent fingermarks. The one-step cyanoacrylate fuming technology is a good complement for the currently used cyanoacrylate technology and provided a new way to the development of latent fingermarks. The research progress of application of one-step cyanoacrylate fu-ming technology in latent fingerprint development were summarized ,and discussed the development pros-pect of this technology.
