回药铁棒锤为毛茛科乌头属植物伏毛铁棒锤的干燥块根。其主要药效成分为二萜生物碱类，具有显著的抗炎镇痛作用，但具有一定的毒副作用。通过整理国内外近30年关于铁棒锤化学成分、药理作用及炮制方法的文献资料，为宁夏民间药铁棒锤的深入研究提供参考。

Aconiti flavi Radix is the roots of Aconitum flavum Hand.-Mazz. in the Aconitum genus, which is classified in the family Ranunculaceae. Diterpenoid alkaloids are the main effective constituents of Aconiti flavi Radix, which have significant effect of anti-inflammation and abirritation, but the toxic and side effects are also existed. To give reference for further research on Aconiti flavi Radix by searching and summarizing the data from correlative references for chemical constituents, pharmacological effects and processing methods of Aconiti flavi Radix in recent thirty years.
