The volatile of vapor phase corrosion inhibitor was carried into the thermal system through heated compressed air,which tend to passivate the metal surface and could effectively alleviate the oxygen corrosion during the period of shutdown protection. The method is speedy,efficient and cost-effective,and is suitable for short-term and long-term protection of steel thermal equipment with different volume or complex structure. The protection problem of air cooling island of direct air cooling unit was solved by applying this method.
