The medium -length hole mining method ,which used successfully in many mines ,is an attracted topic in the residual ore recovery. However, the discussion about the residual ore recovery are rare. This paper introduces the high safety and efficiency of the medium -length hole mining method through the ex‐perience of Hongtoushan Copper Mine in the recovery of the residual ore which is difficult to exploit under relative hostile environments .
