Potassium ferrate, currently as a kind of water treatment agent used widely in the water treatment field, was paid more and more attention, because of unique characteristic mutilfunctions such as oxidation, floccula-tion, sterilization, disinfection and deodorization in the water treatment process. The latest developments of different preparation and characterization of Potassium ferrate were summarized, and the advantages and disadvantages of each preparations and characterizations of potassium ferrate were also compared with each other. Combination with the au-thors’ latest research achievements and the practical applications, the summary and prospect of the convenient prepa-ration and effective characterization of potassium ferrate were proposed, with which provide useful conference informa-tion for further research on potassium ferrate’ s preparation, characterization and application.
