Taking Xinjiang Career Technical College as an example, the necessity and feasibility of local universities transformed in?to applied technical institutes are analyzed. The applied vocational institutes should run practice and application through specialty set?ting, talents training mode and teaching staff construction. Based on the thinking of the orientation of school-running, regional indus?try structure and the needs of society, the developing routes of serving society, school-enterprise cooperation, teaching staff construc?tion and talents training scheme revision are specially analyzed.
