This article analyzed the characteristics of space planning and its evolution in Beiwei,Liaojin,Ming and Qing dynasty of the ancient city of Datong in history. This article explored the preserved culture hidden behind the city status. Purpose of this article is to give reference and basis for urban planning,construction,management and new-type of urbanization from history to remain Datong as a dynamic city.
