民间的智慧和创新是社会草根阶层为了生存以及实现其自身价值的需要而做出的一种创造性适应。文章首先基于认知资源使用的节省律对智慧与创新何以能在民间产生进行了思考，其次从顿悟与试误、学习与创造、革新与创新、分析与整合等方面分析了民间智慧和创新产生的认知过程特征，最后从有用与新颖、建设与破坏、投资与投机等角度剖析了这一现象的动机特征。

Folk wisdom and innovation can be regarded as a kind of creative adaption that grass?roots make for their survival and self-fulfillment. Grassroots innovation generates in special cognitive and motivational context because innovation usually require extensive mental and material resources that may not be rich in the grassroots. In this paper, we discussed the cognitive features of grassroots innovation from multiple psychological perspectives including contrasts between the processes of insight and trial-and-error, learning and creation, innovation and renovation, and decomposition and integration. The moti?vational features of grassroots innovation, however, were considered through contrasts between the empha?sis on usefulness and novelty, the aim of construction and destruction, and the intention of investment and speculation.
