作为庶出得不到家人关爱的贾府二小姐———贾迎春，由于自身体弱多病，才能、见识有限，导致性格较为懦弱，被人轻视，所以只能通过信仰与世无争的道家思想来寻求心灵的慰藉，与人相处变得随遇而安、缺乏主见，待己待人都比较冷漠，最终被丈夫折磨而死。其悲剧既是在父母之命主导下的婚姻悲剧，又是信仰道家而最终没有善果的信仰悲剧。正是这个处处衬托他人，与世无争的女子的逝去，丰富了《红楼梦》的思想内涵。
