Based on the water depth and topography change of the Tongzhousha second section of phase I project of 12.5 m deepwater channel from Nanjing in the Yangtze River , we proposed an improved design for the soft mattress, reconstructed the laying ship machine, and optimized the construction technology. All these strategies can ensure the successful layout of deep water soft mattress for this project.
