The essay introduces the meaning and modification scheme of substitute refrigerant R22 for R12 in refrig-eration units of railway refrigerated cars.Before carrying out the mass modification, the two schemes based on the small-scale experimental modification are analyzed and studied, the contrast experiment schemes are worked out, the conclusion are drawn from the experiments, thus providing technical data for the mass modification.The key problems occurred during the mass modification and application such as process plan, accessories selection, param-eters setting and the temperature drop slowdown are analyzed and studied in detail, and an optimized scheme are put forward.
