Taking the fire protection design of the pitch storage tank in Lhasa Tibet as an example, the in‐fluences of environment temperature and altitude on motor power were discussed, and then, the optional calcula‐tion methods of the capacity of fire pump matching motor were put forward. It was indicated that, calculating mo tor capacity in high altitude localities should based on the specified reserve factors and take correction factors also.
