Wu Shaowei, one of the founders of "Wu-fu Style" and one of the three most famous writers in Beijing, holds an important position among the men of letters in the early Tang Dynasty. The newly discovered A Preface to Wu Family Genealogy which is complete in content, clear in narration and fluent in language is confirmed to be authentic and reliable. The discovery of the preface is of great value for understanding Wu Shaowei's thoughts on clans and literature creations.
