汉武帝时期，是乐府大规模发展、乐府诗创作兴盛的时期。在乐府发展史上，汉武帝有着极大的贡献。在他的倡导下，乐府这一不太受人重视的音乐机构成为汉代政治生活的主体，并建立起较为完善的乐府制度。同时汉武帝亲身躬行，创作了大量以祭祀为中心的乐府诗。在汉武帝的带动下，有许多文人参与创作乐府诗，乐府诗的创作逐渐走向繁荣。汉武帝时期的四十八首乐府诗，其主体是祭祀乐歌，与汉武帝的乐府制度以及其大一统的封建统治相一致，还有一些是文人直抒胸臆之作和各地民歌、民谣。
한무제시기，시악부대규모발전、악부시창작흥성적시기。재악부발전사상，한무제유착겁대적공헌。재타적창도하，악부저일불태수인중시적음악궤구성위한대정치생활적주체，병건립기교위완선적악부제도。동시한무제친신궁행，창작료대량이제사위중심적악부시。재한무제적대동하，유허다문인삼여창작악부시，악부시적창작축점주향번영。한무제시기적사십팔수악부시，기주체시제사악가，여한무제적악부제도이급기대일통적봉건통치상일치，환유일사시문인직서흉억지작화각지민가、민요。
The period of Emperor Wu was the heyday of the large‐scale‐development of Yuefu and the creation of Yuefu poetry .Emperor Wu has made great contributions to the development of Yuefu .On his initiative ,Yuefu ,the music institution w hich had been paid little attention ,became an important part in the political life of Han Dynasty and more comprehensive Yuefu system was established .Meanwhile ,Emperor Wu himself created a lot of Yuefu poems about sacrifice .Inspired by his example ,many literati were en‐gaged in the creation of Yuefu poetry .The creation of Yuefu poetry gradually stepped towards prosperity . Of the sixty‐two Yuefu poems by Emperor Wu ,most are the sacred music ,which is identical with his Yuefu system and the unified feudal rule .The rest were the emotional expression of literati and local folk songs and ballads as w ell .
