Matrix metalloproteinase( MMPs)and their inhibitors,which are related to malignant tumor have been introduced. Also,various drug screening methods at the molecular level for MMPs inhibitors has been reviewed,including fluorogenic substrate assay,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay( ELISA),gelatin zy-mography,high performance liquid chromatography( HPLC),capillary electrophoresis( CE)and so on. Finally,future developments of drug screening methods at the molecular level for MMPs inhibitors are prospected.
