From the design idea of new settlement monitoring and warning system,this paper discussed the monitoring purpose of channel dam, slope and flood control slope protection,and analyzed in detail the design contents and its characteristics of line type settlement monitoring and warning system,pointed out that this kind of measurement system could be applied to the low span distribution and settlement monitoring,had broad application prospect.
