目前我国地方本科院校大学生的跨文化交际能力整体偏低,甚至基本不能与西方人进行有效交际。因此,学校应改变大学英语课程设置,改进教学模式,着力培养学生提高自身跨文化交际能力的自主性。

This study randomly selected 100 undergraduates of non-English majors from a local univer-sity of Hunan Province to test their intercultural communicative competence. The results shows that the inter-cultural communicative competence of undergraduates of non-English majors from local universities is quite low on the whole. Due to this, the paper tries to explore the ways for local universities to improve undergrad-uatesˊintercultural communicative competence, from the perspectives of changing curriculum, strengthening undergraduatesˊawareness to improve their ICC on their own, and changing the teaching model.
