网络热词具有新颖性、简明性、通俗性和感染性等特征。模因是文化传递单位，其成功传递需要经历四个阶段，即同化、记忆、表达和传输。从模因论的视角来审视，网络热词的上述特征与模因成功传递的四个阶段相吻合，使其在循环运动中容易被宿主同化、记忆、表达和传输，从而顺利进入下一个周期，演变成强势模因。这就是网络热词流行的模因论理据。

Network catchwords have the features of originality ,simplicity,popularity,infectivity and so on.Meme is a culturally transmissive unit and its successful relay involves four stages: assimilation,retention,expression and transmission .Examined form the perspective of memetics ,the above-mentioned features of network catchwords coin-cide with the four stages of a successful meme ’ s relay and make them easy to be assimilated ,retained,expressed and transmitted .As a result,they can be passed on to the next period successfully and turned into prevalent memes . This explains the memetic motivations for the popularity of network catchwords .
