This paper analyzes the advantages of using radar sensor to measure the water level at the shipping dock introduces the principle and performance index of vegapuls61 water level sensor.Combining with the topographic features and application characteristics of Vegapuls61 radar water level sensor in the Yangtze River navigation dock this paper expounds the application condition scope and measurement accuracy of the gauge together with problems encountered countermeasures and successful experience in the Yangtze River stage measurement by the Vegapuls61 radar water level sensor.
