作为未名社成员之一，李霁野的文学成就突出表现在外国文学翻译领域，但在创作方面也取得了一定的实绩。就小说创作来看，主要表现了生的隔膜与爱的隐痛；就散文创作而言，抒发的是真诚与质朴的思想情怀。其创作题材虽有些狭窄，但却体现了他对文学创作“深与细”的美学追求。
