易读性分析包括文本的易读度、年级水平和词汇的统计信息,这些信息是测量文本的难易度的主要依据。在信息技术环境下,利用Readability Analyzer等易读性分析工具使得易读性分析更为准确、快速、便捷。研究发现,一些国家的报刊杂志和法律文本对易读性都有一定的限制。在外语教学中,选择易读性适中的文本是提高阅读教学效果的前提。通过易读性分析,教师可以选择难易恰当的阅读材料,提高学习者的理解能力,扩大学习资源,培养自主学习能力。易读性分析指数还可以用于测量学习者的作文年级水平,帮助他们发现写作上的问题,提高写作能力。

Readability index includes reading ease, grade level and counts of sentences and words, which is used as the statistic data in testing the difficulty of reading materials. In the era of information technology, the readability analyzer will make it easier, faster and more convenient to analyze the reading ease and other readability indices of a text. Research findings show that, in some countries, reading ease of news papers, magazines and legal documents is usually restricted. In language instruction, choosing texts with suitable readability is the precondition to promote teaching efficiency. Educators may use the readability analyzer in choosing suitable reading texts for developing learners ’ reading comprehension, and selecting suitable internet recourses in cultivating learner’ s autonomic learning. With the readability analyzer, teachers can also evaluate learners’ level of writing, assist learners to find out their problems in writing and to achieve progress in writing.
