纽约市教育部门自1984年开展了替代性职业辅助项目(后改名践行学徒制项目,简称SVA),旨在把部分优秀职业高中的毕业生培养成为职教教师。该项目包括教师教育课程、企业实践和教学实习三部分,近三十年来,为纽约市成功招聘和保留了一批年轻的职教教师,对我国职教师资队伍的建设有着重要的借鉴意义。

Since 1984, the New York City Department of Education has established a project known as the Substitute Vocational Assistant (SVA) Program, later was called Success Via Apprenticeship Program. It is a collaborative program of the United Federation of Teachers (UFT) and the City University of New York (CUNY). SVA program includes three components: teaching internship, academic study, and relevant work experience in industry. Over nearly three decades, New York city has been successful with recruiting and retaining CTE teachers through SVA program, which has a significant enlightenment to our national teaching staff construction.
