中国是礼仪之邦，敬谦语的使用由来已久。《三国演义》使用了大量的敬谦语，集中体现了中国传统的礼仪文化。罗慕士主要采用异化策略，成功地翻译了这些敬谦语。从接受美学的角度来看，汉译英时，使用异化策略可以更好地激发译文读者的阅读兴趣，更有利于中国文化在海外的传播。

It is a time-honored custom to use honorific and self-deprecating words in China which is known as a state of etiquette and ceremonies. The numerous honorific and self-deprecating words in Three Kingdoms vividly embody the Chinese traditional etiquette culture. Moss Roberts mainly adopts foreignizing strategies and successfully translates them. From the perspective of aesthetics of reception, foreignizing strategies are better ways to evoke the interest of the readers and transmit Chinese culture overseas in Chinese-English translation.
