公众演讲具有一定的时代性、社会性和鼓动性。本文旨在以评价理论为框架，从积极话语分析角度出发，分析“级差”在《潘基文·南京大学演讲》语篇分析中所起的作用，具体探究发言者在演讲中是如何使用评价资源来表明自己的立场、观点和态度的，从而阐释积极话语分析的社会意义。

This thesis uses appraisal theory which it claims that the language a person uses describes both his stances towards the issues he discusses and the person with whom he communicate (Martin&White,2005:1) .
