How to evaluate the performance of engines is one of the important research contents concerned about the engine industry. To illustrate the evaluation of the development of the engine,this paper describes the three engine selection activities and study of engine evaluation method both at home and abroad,discusses the shortcomings of the current evaluation system of the engine,and puts forward the objective evaluation of engine system in the future.
