Equipment faults generated by gas insulated switchgear have a serious negative influence on the safe and reliable function of high-voltage devices in power grid. A brief introduction is made to the development and trend of GIS equipment in this paper. And by expounding the minimized GIS’ effect upon equipment running and maintenance,the available improvements for GIS running reliability have been analyzed and discussed according to the shortcomings of GIS equipmentminiaturization.
