对于产品的创新设计，依据产品技术系统进化的理论，通常会产生一条特定的进化轨迹。然而，在进化过程中，难免会存在一些陷阱，给人类社会和自然带来严重的负面影响。根据节制设计的理论，这些陷阱可称为进化路径负面陷阱。依据节制设计的方式，这些负面陷阱通常可以根据预测分析进行判断，从而避免进化路径进入这个区域。
