中西医二者在理论体系、临床诊疗技术等方面各有长短。发展中国特色医学应该摒弃“西医为主，中医保健”以及“中医西医化”的模式，从国家、医院管理者、医务工作者以及医学生等各个层面努力，借助中国传统医学的平台，将中医的诊疗思维与现代医学相关的检查和治疗方法相融合，深入发掘传统中药的科学内涵，实现真正的中西医结合。

Chinese and western medicine has respective advantages and disadvantages in such fields as theory system, clinical diagnosis and treatment and so on. The development of medicine of Chinese characteristics should abandon the mode of "western medicine as main, Chinese medicine as health care" and "western medicine modeling of Chinese medicine", strive from the aspects of nation, hospital administrator, medical worker and medical students, in virtue of the platform of traditional Chinese medicine, fix together the thought of diagnosis and treatment of Chinese medicine with detecting and treating method of modern medicine, explore deeply the scientific connotation of traditional Chinese medicine, realize the real combination of Chinese and western medicine.
