Jun pottery from Yixing is an age-old form of ceramic art distinguished with its own shape, decoration and glaze. Of all the decorative techniques, the appliqué by a thumb is the most mature. This paper introduces the unique appliqué technique for Jun pottery of Yixing and describes in detail the freehand style of its decorated patterns.
